How is the residue? Sticky or powdery? Does it become fluid when burning or can you use it on a flat plate?
That gummy bear was sent to hell
Can you kindly explain how your laser in powered? I understand you're modulating your laser, but how is it powered, without the paper clip being positioned on the laser clip.
The power is coming from the battery. The connection to the computer is toggling (and modulating) on and off with the coding of the music track.
@@BealsScience Thank you so much for getting back to me. I'm a teacher and would love to show my students this amazing experiment but I'm still having problem understanding how the laser is being powered. If its been powered by the battery, shouldn't you put the paper clip on the laser's clip (which needs pressure) in order to turn ON the laser? I'm very sorry to take your time on this. THANK YOU!
@@sfardadthis laser turns on when the lapel clip touches the metal tube of the laser (it completes the connection for the battery). So, you can replicate this with a laser diode and a watch battery if you can’t find a laser like this one. Does that help?
@@BealsScience thank you for getting back to me. I understand how the laser circuit completes and turns on, what I do not understand is circuit you're using to "modulate it" while its on using batteries.
you need wadding, all of the hot gasses are escaping around the bowling ball since it doesn't fit the barrel well.
I agree!
Hello again. would it be worth the try to launch a fishing line with a lure and weight using this cannon into the ocean from the ocean bank?
That’s a great idea!!
@@BealsSciencecmon?
Its lead iodide particles not gold. And its toxic. Please don't try this at home.
👍
Butt Head would say, "cool"
😆
Rifle your barrel
Thats a boat sized bubble
👍
I’m pretty sure your custom DIY planetarium can also be used with children’s outer space projectors you know stuff like the stars theater two So the real time, current projection layout of the star map was questions coming from the audience to a digital projection that you made to witness the birth of stars and drop the audience into a black hole
Good idea!
Next time use a drone to track the flight of the bowling ball!!!
Good idea!!
How often and how difficult is it to clean if you make coffee every morning?
It doesn’t take long to clean. Just run some water through it and use a little soap when necessary!
does leaving the penny in the zinc solution longer build up a thicker layer or is there a limit
It seems like there is a limit to how much zinc will bind to it but I haven’t left it in for extended periods to see how much.
A lot of ppl say the hypoallergenic soaps are better, idk i didnt see much of a difference
I haven’t tested them against each other so thank you for sharing this!
And i used boiling water to mix ingredients and then let it sit for a night at least. I let mine sit for about 3 days and perfecto. I at first tried everything that i already had in my house...but the jlube is simple and very good for best large lasting bubbles but had to buy that.
Great tip! Thanks!!
Ya the mold was probably the sugar recipe hu
In some recipes it could definitely be the sugar.
Wow i thought i got crazy with it, i had to hide my bubble lab from my kid though whole time i worked on it and thats difficult w an 8yr old boy. But i did it, and soooo stoked!
👍
cannon golf?
Yes!!! 👍
No it's only mabe couple 1000s or even 100s of miles away not millions
thanks for the tip,,,,
No problem!
May I call you "Mr. Wizard" from my favorite TV show back in the 60s? Thanks for the awesome science lesson🪔
I remember Mr. Wizard!!
If you have 2 lasers, and connect a electrical power source + to one laser, and - to the other laser will you get a voltage potential across the 2 laser beams? If it does please let me know. Thanks
This was an enjoyable random find.
Thanks for watching!!
This guy's calcium cannons are gorgeous
Thanks!
Terrible presentation; ring should be bigger.
I took A LOT of inspiration from this and used cardboard for my 4 meter planetarium. I started with a round wooden deck and a riser wall designed to accommodate a Sonostar 3V 5/9 geodesic dome kit with 2" PVC pipe. This provides a smooth dome vs conduit. I laid up EC32 Carboard sheets and cut panels to cover the outside, and made interior boxes with cardboard that fit snugly between the struts. These are filled with insulation. The outside is covered with 2 layers of polyester roofing cloth and about 50 gallons of elastomeric. I am in SW Oregon we get wet cold winters and snow and it has held up without a leak for three years so far. The inner projection dome is also carboard. This one is 6V 1/2. I made a simple bending jig like a box and pan brake. The only problem is condensation. I have 80mm fans constantly pulling air between the two dome layers and a dehumidifier arrangement. to keep everything dry. Condensation is a notorious problem in sealed domes. If you are on Facebook my group is "planetarium builders and enthusiasts".
It sounds amazing!! Thanks for sharing!!
Great video. Makes me feel safe
Glad to help
The media is saying china is gunna win ww3 because they supply more nitrocellulose cotton…
Great vid! The link to the blog is broken btw
Can you tell me what link is broken? I will make sure it is fixed. Thank you!
@@BealsScience The second one in the video description linking to instructions and supplies
@@coppurt THANK YOU for letting me know! I have fixed the website and the link so hopefully it will work now! Thanks again!
do you have the metric conversion of this recipe? (The second one)
There is more info and recipes with metric conversions on my website at: www.bealsscience.com/post/how-to-make-giant-bubbles I hope that helps!
Would these be physical reactions (as opposed to chemical) since all you are doing is coating a penny with zinc and then mixing the zinc with copper to make brass?
Us men make me laugh ,the answer to everything is "more"
More!!
I forgot to mention what a great video that was. I hope you attempt a mile shot. And please put it on U-tube.
Thank you!!
If you’re going for distance attempt the record with the first or second shot. Before the metal used for your barrel has a chance to fatigue.
👍
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
How did you build a sturdy enough platform for 250 pounds of sand?
Use good wood and lots of bolts!
Imagine an machine vision assisted version for the vision impaired where they can get everything in the room to say it’s own name.
👍
How is gonna tell him bs stands for bull sh*t
…he knows. 😆
Can you reverse this experiment?
If you gently heat the penny for a bit longer it will go back to copper because most of the zinc will migrate to the center with the zinc core that is already at the center of the penny.
I am volunteering for our town’s first annual Foster family fun day and made recipe #1. Just finished testing it in the back yard. I highly recommend this. It’s so much fun.
Thank you! I hope you have a great time making bubbles at the Fun Day!!
BS💀💀💀. It was a nice and easy way of explaining his principle.
Thank you for the kind words!
not the xbox 360 eyeball 😂😂😂
Yes! The eyeball! 😆
It looks like an erupting volcano 🌋
👍
4:05 The proper term is shocked. Electrocution is the injury or killing of someone by electric shock.
Did this exact experiment 'bout 30 yrs ago at home at 40' distance except using an amplitude modulated 2000 volt helium-neon gas laser tube... Interesting video, Thx..
Nice work! I’d love to see this with an AM laser!!
But guys what is happening to the pennies on a molecular level tho?
I did the second recipe and it didn’t even make one bubble :(
Hey you know you are talking about something that you'd better know very well what you are dealing with. Secondly Carbide cannons have been around a LONG Time. I have a 60 year old one I was given as a kid. Here's a little reading homework for you. Oh, by the way if you aren't carefull that PVC pipe can shatter and instead of shooting a golf ball other projectile down range, you could launch pieces of PVC pipe into your body. The Big-Bang Cannon is an American toy cannon first manufactured in the early 20th-century. Numerous consumer fireworks injuries[1] convinced a physics professor at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to patent a "Gas Gun" in 1907, and the manufacturing of Big-Bang Cannons started in 1912, from the Gas Cannon Company.
am so excited to share this experiment with my small group of students. I bought some universal indicator on Amazon and I haven’t tried this yet, but I am wondering how many times you can add the acid before it doesn’t work any longer.
You can add acid until it becomes clear and red and then add more milk of magnesia to make it go the other way. You can repeat this back and forth until you run out of acid and/or magnesia! Have fun!
AWESOME!! Thanks so muc😃😃
From the first experiment, can you use the carbon snake as fuel to cook a stake or make a fire?
Good idea!
